Richard Thompson fans won’t hear any of the Fairport Convention songwriter’s originals when he stops at the Pabst Theater for an 8 p.m. show, but they will hear his take on the work of plenty of other masters. As part of his “1,000 Years of Popular Music” tour, Thompson covers an eclectic playlist that includes everything from medieval ballads to comparatively recent hits by Prince and Britney Spears.
